Promthep Cape
The southernmost headland of Phuket and the island's most famous sunset viewpoint, with views across the Andaman to Koh Kaeo and beyond.
Promthep Cape is a long volcanic finger pointing south into the Andaman. The walk down the headland passes a lighthouse-museum and ends at a stone cairn marked by a forest of small bells left by previous visitors.
Sunset is the obvious draw — the cape faces due west and the islands of Koh Kaeo Yai and Noi sit perfectly in frame — but it's also quietly worth visiting at sunrise, when you'll have it almost to yourself.
