Phuket Old Town
The historic Sino-Portuguese heart of Phuket — pastel shophouses, Hokkien-Chinese shrines, street art and the island's best coffee scene.

Phuket Old Town is the surviving piece of the island's 19th-century tin-mining boom, when Hokkien Chinese traders built shophouses along Thalang, Dibuk and Krabi roads. The architecture is Sino-Portuguese — pastel facades, shuttered upper floors, deep arcades.
Today it's the most walkable part of Phuket. Half a day is enough to see Thalang Road, Soi Romanee, the Thai Hua Museum, a couple of Chinese shrines and a long coffee at one of the heritage cafés.
