Phi Phi Islands
Two limestone islands south-east of Phuket — Phi Phi Don (the inhabited one) and Phi Phi Leh, home to Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon.
The Phi Phi Islands sit in Krabi Province, about 90 minutes by speedboat from Phuket. Phi Phi Don is the only inhabited island; Phi Phi Leh is uninhabited and protected as a national park.
Maya Bay — closed for several years to allow the reef to recover — is once again open under a daily-visitor cap. The wider archipelago (Pileh Lagoon, Loh Samah Bay, Bamboo Island) is what makes the day worth doing even on busier dates.
